Mei Sze (Macy) Phung

Mei Sze (Macy) Phung was born and raised in the Bay Area of California. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Asia over 30 years ago. She is about 2/3 Chinese, and 1/3 Vietnamese.

Macy started acting, writing, and producing during her teen years.

Macy's short film "A Ripple in Time" (2013) is based on a true story about two sisters who deal with the younger one's clairvoyance and magical abilities and the uncertainty that lies in the future. It screened at the Scary Cow Film Festival in San Francisco and garnered critical acclaim, where audience members called the film a "huge leap forward in filming and so refreshingly personal" as well as "a courageous piece of soul, truth, and beauty". "A Ripple in Time" has lead to the creation of narrative feature film "Mother Earth the Magnificent" (in development), which is about Daisy's Chinese Vietnamese family's immigration story and how it intertwines with the greater overarching themes of unity and harmony. Her next stage in life: bringing world peace and environmental sustainability. Her future films will bring light to voices from developing countries.

Macy graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2015, earning a Bachelor's Degree in World Arts and Cultures, with a focus in film, dance, and political economy of development.

She won the People’s Choice Award at Pitch-Force by PeopleConnect for SeePurE, which was highly acclaimed by attendees who were incredibly impressed.
